The Chair of Death

This pretty average looking wooden dining room chair has a whole lot more going for it than an antique flair. This particular chair has apparently killed every single person who has sat in it since the year 1702. The chair was a favorite of a man named Thomas Busby who happened to be a convicted murderer. On his way to the gallows his final request was to visit his local pub and have a drink. After he had finished his beverage he stood up and exclaimed that anyone who sat down in his chair would be cursed and die soon after.

The chair continued to live on in the pub for many years while the locals dared each other to sit. When World War II came along airmen used to hang out in that pub and the chair became the talk of the town. Claims were made that any pilot who sat in the chair didn't return from the fight. Even in the 1960’s two Royal air force pilots decided to sit in the chair and on their drive back they hit a tree and both of the men died.

A few years later, there were two bricklayers in the pub who decided to try their luck and the one who sat in the chair fell to his death later that same afternoon. There are a few other stories of people dying right after their butt came in contact with the chair until one day the owner of the pub moved it to the basement in hopes that it would stop all these crazy deaths. It didn’t. A delivery man was in the basement unloading cargo and took a rest in the perfectly good seat that happened to be down there with him. He finished up his work and left only to die in a car crash not even an hour later.

This led the landlord to request that a local museum take the chair away to prevent further deaths. The museum took the chair and hung it from the wall roughly five feet in the air to deter people from trying their luck with the CHAIR OF DEATH.
